The ruins of the fortress raised under Empress Maria Theresa stand on Coruna Hill above the village of Potoc. The climb is of moderate difficulty and takes about two hours there and back from the trout farm.
From the top, when the air is clear of haze, you can see as far as the Danube. When the wind drops, you can hear the Bei running in the valley below.
Șușara Waterfall and Gorge
Three hours there and back along the water, no difficulty. The entrances to the old mine galleries are visible on the way.
The Nera Gorges
Twenty-two kilometres of gorge, caves, overhanging paths and cable crossings. The wildest in the country.
The Tunnels and Podul Bei
Tunnels cut by hand through the rock, along the Nera. Two hours of easy walking with the river alongside.
