The point of this place is to make you feel well, to let you rest, to send you out into the wonderful country of the Banat mountains. Walk in nature, listen to the water, look up at a sky full of stars, and forget your worries!

The house

What youwill find

A four-storey house, a courtyard with a timber pavilion, and the forest starting right behind it. The trails to Șușara Waterfall, Ochiul Beiului and the Devil's Lake all begin in Sasca Montană — a village that was a German mining town three hundred years ago.

A ground floor and three upper storeys, linked by a central staircase with a wrought-iron balustrade: nine double rooms and six apartments, thirty-six beds in all. Between the floors are two terraces, to sit out on and look. Behind the house the ground climbs into forest; in the courtyard stands a timber pavilion. There is also a dining room.

A double room is 250 lei, an apartment 320 lei a night, breakfast not included. Breakfast 25 lei and dinner 35 lei, on request.

Seven walks,seven days

From a three-hour riverside walk that children can manage, to a full-day circuit out to the Devil's Lake. The Nera Gorges are reckoned the wildest natural gorges in Romania, and their mouth is ten minutes by car from the gate.

It is 10 min by car from the gate to the mouth of the Nera Gorges.

How fareach one is

All of them start from the village. The first few are done on foot, in a morning or a day; Ochiul Beiului and Beușnița mean the car. The times are there and back, on the path, as the host gives them.
