Ochiul Beiului and Beușnița Waterfall

A lake four and a half metres deep, fed by a spring rising from its own bed, and the waterfall above it.

Ochiul Beiului is a small lake — fifteen metres across, four and a half deep — fed by a spring that wells up from its own bed. The water keeps its colour and temperature all year round.

Above it is Beușnița Waterfall, the most photographed in the area. It is worth seeing in any season, but spring, when the flow is full, is another thing entirely. In summer the fall often thins to a trickle. The same walk takes in La Văioagă waterfall and the smaller Beușnița cascades.
